University of Cologne
Founded in 1388, the University of Cologne is one of the oldest and largest universities in Europe. The UoC mission is to create and impart knowledge, to offer its students and early-career academics outstanding academic education, to promote cutting-edge research and to drive innovation.
The UoC is an academic home to more than 48,000 students, over 4,600 academic staff members and about 600 professors at six faculties, in 337 programs and 16 collaborative research centers. With an international network of 85 university partners, over 500 partnerships at faculty level, ten global networks, and five liaison offices (China, India, North America, Ghana and Egypt), the UoC proudly presents itself as a globally active institution. Furthermore, the UoC is part of the international consortium of „Maria Sibylla Merian Centre | Conviviality – Inequality in Latin America” with its main office in São Paulo.
