International Alumni Workshop: “Collaborative Production of Transformation Knowledge in Self-Organized Occupations (COLLOC)“
TU Berlin’s next International Alumni Workshop will take place in Rio de Janeiro (28 March – 7 April 2019): It aims at pooling the expertise of the participants on complex problems such as planetary urbanisation, vulnerability, climate change and food security. It will combine their knowledge and networks by activating transdisciplinary networks and discussing strategic solutions for sustainable and resilient transformations in urban space. The context of this Alumni Workshop is a self-organized occupation in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro: Solano Trindade in Duque de Caxias.
This workshop is targeted at alumni (former students or researchers) from German institutions of higher education living in Brazil and working in the fields of urban development, architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, environmental planning, environmental technology, sociology, geography and similar. Preferably, they hold positions in science, politics, NGOs and business and are thus influencers and/or decision-makers for development policy measures. Experiences in working in the fields of urban informality, self-organization, development programs for informal settlements or similar are advantageous but not mandatory.
